With all due respect to Tony Stark, it's the 21st century—there's really no reason to be an iron(ing) man
(But thank you again for killing Thanos—honestly, the MCU has gone way downhill since your sacrifice)

Anyone who’s ever struggled to unfold an ironing board probably understands the benefits of wearing wrinkle-free pants.

Ironing your pants is both time-consuming and annoying.

Illustration of a man frantically ironing his clothes
James Bond had No Time to Die; the rest of us have no time to iron

And while taking them to the dry cleaners might be slightly more convenient, it also comes with a high price tag and gets real expensive, real fast.

Fortunately, nowadays a lot of brands offer wrinkle-resistant pants offer the same sharp style as traditional pants, but are made from the kind of breathable fabric and durable material that you (pretty much) never have to iron.

To help you find the best no-iron pants to suit both your dress code and personal taste, in this post we’ve rounded up our 10 favorite pants made from stretchy, stylish and wrinkle-resistant fabric.

How We Created This List

Level of Wrinkle Resistance

Fabric Blend and Quality

Fit, Cut, and Style Features

For us, the best wrinkle-free pants are the ones that combine wrinkle-free fabric with other modern features, like moisture-wicking properties and stretchy fabric, both of which make them more comfortable.

In terms of style, we favor pants with modern, tapered fits, and awarded extra points to ones that come in a wide variety of colors, patterns and sizes.

To create this list, Dave drew from his personal experience wearing a wide range of wrinkle-free and non-iron pants—including some of the specific models listed below, which are marked “Reviewed & Approved.”

The Best Men’s Wrinkle-Free Pants

Rounding Up the Best Non-Iron Pants on the Market

Best Wrinkle-Free Casual Pants ↓

Western Rise Evolution Pant

Western Rise Evolution Pant

Notable Features:

  • Tried in Person: ✅
  • Fabric Blend: 90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 8
  • Cut/Fit: Available in Classic or Slim
  • No. of Sizes Available: 10 wait sizes, 2 inseam lengths
  • Other Features:
    • Zip pocket for wallet
    • Large phone pocket

Why We Like It:

The Evolution pants are my favorite overall wrinkle-free casual option because they’re stylish, comfortable, versatile and (duh) wrinkle-free.

They have belt loops and a flat front design that makes them look like a standard pair of casual chino pants.

But unlike standard chinos, the nylon/elastane blend is both stretchy and moisture wicking, so you get the benefits of modern technology to go along with a pretty timeless casual look.

They’re available in either a slim or classic fit, come in eight different colors and offer a pretty wide selection of size options, so you can probably find a good fit no matter your body type.

Why Some Might Not:

They’re made from 90% nylon, which is a great performance fabric, but it doesn’t easily pass for cotton the way polyester and other synthetics do.

So if you’re looking for a wrinkle-free pair that looks like it’s made from all organic materials, this probably isn’t the pair for you.

With that said, I’ve worn these with a button-down shirt and a pair of dress shoes multiple times in a business-casual environment, and they worked great, so it’s really just a matter of preference.

Best Slim Fit Non Iron Pants ↓

Mizzen + Main Helmsman Chino

Mizzen + Main Helmsman Chino

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 5
  • Cut/Fit: Slim Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 10 waist sizes, 3 inseam lengths

Why We Like It:

If you’re looking for something slim fit but aren’t quite sold on the Western Rise pair above, the Helsman is a great go-to.

They’re made from a stretchy blend of polyester and spandex that’s both wrinkle free and water resistant, making them a particularly good option for guys who live in rainier climates, like the Pacific Northwest or the UK.

(Sorry, I should correct that. I should say they’re a great option for guys who live in the Pacific Northwest of the US, and blokes who live in the UK. There. Much better.)

A lot of the options on this list come in a slim fit variety, but Mizzen’s is my favorite because the cut is damn-near perfect.

It hues closely to the leg without looking too skinny, making these easy to dress up with and a pair of oxfords for business meetings, or dress down with a polo shirt and white sneakers for coffee dates or casual hangs with friends.

Why Some Might Not:

With only five color options to choose from, the selection is a bit limited here in comparison with some of the other pairs on this list.

The slim fit also gives these a slightly dressier and more smart-casual vibe than some of the other pairs listed here.

So they’re good for a lot of professional and social settings, but maybe not the best pair to wear in more active settings, like light hikes or a long day on the golf course.

Best Wrinle-Free Travel Pants ↓

Rhone Commuter Pant

Rhone Commuter Pants

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: “Flex-Knit” fabric
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 7
  • Cut/Fit: 4 options – classic, slim, skinny, five-pocket
  • No. of Sizes Available: 10 waist sizes, 8 inseam lengths
  • Other Features: Hidden security pocket

Why We Like It:

Rhone’s Commuters make for great travel clothing because they’re comfortable and versatile enough to wear during long flights on the plane, long meetings in the boardroom, and long nights at the bar, which is pretty much all you can ask from a single pair of pants.

They’re available in four different fits and come in a medium-weight fabric that’s light enough for spring and summer but not so light that they have to be avoided in cold weather.

They also offer one of the widest range of size options on the market, including inseams that go as low as 26″, making them a particularly good option for short guys who often have trouble finding the right fit off the rack.

Why Some Might Not:

Rhone plays coy about what, exactly, is in their Flex-Knit fabric, saying only that it provides “4-way stretch feel” and comes “packed with tech features.”

Flex-Knit is a registered trademark and they’re obviously concerned about competitors finding out what’s in their proprietary blend, which is fair enough from a business perspective.

But we live in an age of information, and if you’re choosy about what you put on your body (or happen to be allergic to any particular fabrics), it’s a bit annoying to not know what’s in there.

Best Wrinkle Resistant Jeans ↓

Mott & Bow Slim Mercer Jeans

Mott and Bow Mercer Jeans

Notable Features:

  • Tried in Person: ✅
  • Fabric Blend: 98% Cotton, 2% Elastane
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 14
  • Cut/Fit: Slim Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 9 waist sizes, 2 inseam lengths

Why We Like It:

I’ll admit right off the top that it’s kind of funny to include jeans on this list since a pair of denim jeans is inherently more wrinkle-resistant than, say, a pair of traditional wool dress pants.

But the Mercers have become my go-to jeans because they’re
the most comfortable and wrinkle-resistant pair I’ve come across.

They’re mostly made from a form of twill denim that’s softer and more pliable than most of the jeans I’ve owned in the past, and blended with spandex to give them a lot more stretch than you’d expect from jeans.

Why Some Might Not:

The pair listed here is the slim fit version, which I personally love, but some guys might want a roomier fit.

They also make the Mercers in a straight fit, which I haven’t tried but might be worth checking out if you like a little more breathing room in the hips and thighs.

Best Wrinkle Free Work Pants ↓

Public Rec Workday Pant 2.0

Public Rec Workday Pants

Notable Features:

  • Tried in Person: ✅
  • Fabric Blend: 100% Polyester
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 12
  • Cut/Fit: Modern Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 13 waist sizes, 5 inseam lengths
  • Other Features:
    • Hidden zippered pocket

Why We Like It:

Public Rec’s Workday pants are like a modern, upgraded version of the standard chino that’s been a mainstay of business-casual offices for decades.

They come in what they call a “Modern Fit,” which is somewhere in between a slim and a straight.

It skims the thighs like a slim fit, but and fits straight from the knee down, which gives them a pretty versatile silhouette that works well in both professional and casual settings.

I did a full review of Public Rec’s clothes a few years ago and was impressed by the fact that they’re sweat-wicking and quick drying, in addition to being wrinkle-resistant.

Why Some Might Not:

These are made from 100% polyester, as opposed to a blend that includes stretchy materials like spandex or elastane.

Polyester has a certain amount of natural stretch so it’s not like they’re restrictive by any means, but if you prefer pants with a certain amount of elasticity then there are better options out there.

Best Wrinkle-Free Dress Pants ↓

State & Liberty Stretch Dress Pants

State and Liberty Stretch Dress Pants

Notable Features:

  • Tried in Person: ✅
  • Fabric Blend: 74% Poly, 12% Rayon, 8% Nylon, 6% Spandex
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 17 to buy immediately; 9 others can be made to order
  • Cut/Fit: Athletic Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 11 total options
  • Other Features:
    • Inseam comes unhemmed

Why We Like It:

Made from the kind of technical fabric you usually only find on gym clothes or athleisure wear, State & Liberty’s stretch dress pants are a stylish, wrinkle-resistant option for formal occasions.

They topped our list of the best dress pants for muscular guys because they’re designed for athletic body types, and have a stylish, well-tapered shape and a flexible fit.

But they’re also made from stretchy, wrinkle-resistant materials, so they’re also a good choice if your main priority is wrinkle resistance.

Why Some Might Not:

Some guys shy away from anything labeled “athletic fit,” for understandable reasons.

But I find that in most cases, “athletic fit” really just means “tapered fit,” which tends to flatter most body types.

And speaking as a middle-aged dad who owns a pair of these (and whose body practically screams “middle-aged dad”), I can tell you firsthand that you don’t have to be a body builder to pull these off.

They have more room in the thigh and butt than a standard slim fit, but they taper nicely toward the ankles, giving them a sophisticated silhouette.

Best No Iron Khaki Pants ↓

Bonobos Stretch Weekday Warrior

Bonobos Weekday Warrior Khakis

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: 97% Cotton, 3% Elastane
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 21 total, 3 variations of khaki/beige
  • Cut/Fit: 6 options: tailored, slim taper, slim, athletic, straight or classic
  • No. of Sizes Available: 18 waist sizes, 5 inseam lengths

Why We Like It:

I can’t believe I’m saying this about a brand that until recently was owned by Walmart (seriously—f*cking Walmart!), but Bonobos really nails it with these pants.

They’re made from a blend of cotton and elastane that gives them a classic, gentlemanly look, but also a high degree of wrinle-resistance, stretch and comfort.

They come in a pretty wide variety of colors and patterns, but they’re a particularly good option if you’re in the market for khakis because they have three different beige shades to choose from.

Why Some Might Not:

The mostly-cotton blend gives them a classic look and texture (like a modern version of the vintage men’s slacks you used to find in department stores), but they’re not as versatile as many of the other different pairs listed here.

Best Tech Pants ↓

Mack Weldon Maverick Tech Chino

Mack Weldon Maverick Chinos

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: 78% Cotton, 17% Lyocell, 5% Elastane
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 6
  • Cut/Fit: Modern Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 8 waist sizes, 2 inseam lengths

Why We Like It:

Mack Weldon’s tech pants also use a cotton base, but any similarities with the Bonobos pants above end there.

Unlike the Bonobos pants, the Mavericks layer in both lyocell (a semi-synthetic form of rayon) and elastane, resulting in a stretchy, wrinkle-resistant and comfortable pant that can go damn-near anywhere.

It also has a zippered double pocket in the front where you can stash your cell phone or wallet, which is handy when you’re traveling or otherwise on the go.

Why Some Might Not:

The color options are a little limited here, with only six (fairly basic) options to choose from.

Best No Iron Pants on Amazon ↓

Kenneth Cole Stretch Dress Pant

Kenneth Cole Slim Fit Wrinkle-Resistant Pants

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: 100% Polyester
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 7
  • Cut/Fit: Modern Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 15

Why We Like It:

Shopping for menswear on Amazon used to be fun, but has become more like finding a needle in a haystack.

Nowadays there are so many cheaply made items from strangely named brands that it can be hard to find stuff that’s actually half decent.

But brands like Kenneth Cole have been cranking out affordable, middle-of-the-road menswear for decades now, and their wrinkle-free dress pants deliver on the value-for-money proposition you’d expect from the brand.

They’re made of 100% polyester, come in a modern fit that’s straight (if not exactly svelte) and offer a decent range of both sizes and colors.

Plus you get free shipping if you have Prime, which at this point is half the reason for shopping on Amazon in the first place.

Why Some Might Not:

These are decent pants given the price point, and the convenience of shopping on Amazon still can’t really be beat.

But there are definitely better wrinkle-free dress pants out there, and I would definitely recommend paying a little more for the State & Liberty or Bonobos models above if you can afford it.

Best Cheap Wrinkle-Free Pants ↓

Amazon Essentials Wrinkle-Resistant Chino

Amazone Essentials Chino

Notable Features:

  • Fabric Blend: 72% Organic Cotton, 25% Polyester, 3% Elastane
  • Colors/Patterns Available: 7
  • Cut/Fit: Slim Fit
  • No. of Sizes Available: 17

Why We Like It:

Amazon’s brand of cheap-but-stylish staple pieces somehow managed to survive the company’s purging of its other in-house brands, much to the relief of guys who are both style- and budget-conscious.

This pair of wrinkle-resistant chinos is the most affordable option on our list, and pretty much exactly what you’d expect from the brand—and I mean that in a good way.

They’re made from a blend of organic cotton, polyester and elastane that makes them both wrinkle-resistant and comfortably stretchy, have a slim cut that can be dressed up or down, and come in a decent selection of colors and sizes, all for less than 40 bucks.

Are they the best pants on this list? Not even close. Are they pretty good for less a case of beer? You bet your (beautifully unwrinkled) butt.

Why Some Might Not:

I’ll say it again: these are pants that cost less than a case of beer.

The quality might be better than you’d expect for the price, which makes them a good option if you’re on a tight budget, but the price is so low that it’s not a high bar, and there are definitely higher-quality options available if you can afford it.
