College dropouts Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante took the watch world by storm when they launched their line of MVMT men’s watches back in 2013, and it’s not hard to understand why.
They immediately carved out a niche for themselves by offering stylish, affordable and well made men’s watches that don’t require you to skip rent for a month or refinance your car just to get a good-looking timepiece.
As a result, they’ve attracted a huge audience of young, modern, style-conscious guys, and expanded their offerings, including more watch models and a pretty good-looking line of eyewear.
And while they’ve maintained their commitment to cool, modern designs since being acquired by watch giant Movado back in 2018, today some of their offerings have more to offer than others.
Below I’ve rounded up my personal picks for the best MVMT men’s watches, and provided a brief explanation of what makes each one worth spending (a still quite reasonable amount of) your hard-earned cash on.
The Most Stylish MVMT Mens Watches
Breaking Down the Best MVMT Watches for Men
Astro Blue
- 4.7 Stars
- 203 Reviews
- Case Size : 47 MM
- Case Thickness: 13.5 MM
- Strap Width: 24 MM
- Movement: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
In a word? The color. While the chronograph styling and polished silver of the case and band are classic and unimpeachable, what makes this watch an absolute stand out is the rich, dark blue face.
That combination makes the Astro Blue simultaneously feel like a familiar classic and something completely unique and new—a rare combo that makes it a must-have.
Jet Noir
- 4.5 Stars
- 10 Reviews
- Case Size: 41 MM
- Case Thickness: 13.25 MM
- Strap Width: 20MM
- Movement Type: Mech Automatic Basic Calendar
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
Easily one of MVMT’s most sophisticated watch styles, the Jet Noir is formal, but hardly stuffy. The matte black watch face is an absolute stunner that stands out perfectly, set within a silver watch case underneath domed crystal glass.
If you’re looking for the right watch to wear in the boardroom, the ballroom or even your own wedding, the Jet Noir is a sophisticated (and stylish-as-hell) choice.
Silver Mist
- 4.6 Stars
- 52 Reviews
- Case Size: 47 MM
- Case Thickness: 13.5 MM
- Strap Width: 24 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
Moving from black to grey, the Silver Mist is one of the more refined and streamlined chronos on the market. At 47 mm it’s a larger watch than many of MVMT’s other offerings, which is meant as homage to the 1960s muscle car era that inspired its design.
It’s the perfect watch to pair with a black leather jacket, a rebellious attitude and the open road.
Blacktop Sienna Tan
- 4.8 Stars
- 11 Reviews
- Case Size: 44 MM
- Case Thickness: 13.5 MM
- Strap Width: 24 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
The Blacktop Sienna Tan takes the same base model as the Silver Mist, but changes up the colors to create what looks and feels like a totally different watch. The contrasting dials is something you don’t see very often in watch design, which helps the overall impact of the watch stand out.
This is a great, everyday chrono to pair with dark wash jeans, leather boots and either a blazer or a chunky shawl collar cardigan sweater. (Which is to say, you can wear it damn near everywhere).
Rosewood
- 4.4 Stars
- 169 Reviews
- Case Size: 42 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 21 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
The Rosewood reminds me of the type of vintage watch you might find in your attic when sifting through your grandfather’s old things.
The combination of the white watch face and the rose gold coloring gives it a classic feel, and the dual time zone setting (you can set that bottom dial to keep track of time in a separate time zone) makes it feel like the sort of watch a WWII-era pilot would have worn.
Brimm
- 4.6 Stars
- 38 Reviews
- Case Size: 41 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 20 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
There’s a time and a place for gold watches, but when that time comes around—damn. The contrast between the gold band/case and the black face on the Brimm makes for an incredibly impactful combination that makes a powerful statement.
Chrono Black Link
- 4.6 Stars
- 600 Reviews
- Case Size: 45 MM
- Case Thickness: 12 MM
- Strap Width: 22 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
All. Black. Errything. The Chrono Black Link looks like the watch that Captain America might have worn in the sleekly shot opening scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, when he went on that bad-ass stealth mission.
Any time a watch evokes words like sleek, stealth and bad-ass, it’s usually a very good sign.
Revolver Nude
- 4.8 Stars
- 26 Reviews
- Case Size: 41 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 20 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
The “nude” metal color is not one that most guys would commonly associate with watches, which is exactly why it works so damn well.
When paired with the Revolver’s minimalist styling, the nude color stands out even more, making this the perfect watch to wear with earth tones like beige, khaki, camel or grey.
Voyager Monochrome Mesh
- 4.6 Stars
- 73 Reviews
- Case Size: 42 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 21 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Chronograph Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
I find that watches with a metallic mesh strap can be hit or miss. When done poorly, they look like something your Uncle Gus might buy at the Walmart watch counter; but when done well they look sleek and sophisticated, like something James Bond might wear (if he didn’t have an endorsement deal with Omega, that is).
Fortunately, the Voyager very much falls into the latter category. The mesh works better in black than in more traditional colors like gold or silver, helping give this watch a refined and elevated look without being too loud or showy.
Element Chrono International Waters
- Case Size: 44 MM
- Case Thickness: 13.5 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
And speaking of MVMT watches that look like something James Bond might wear, I love the Element Chrono. The gunmetal color simultaneously looks rugged and refined, while the dark watch face is somewhere between a blue and black color, giving the watch an almost mysterious look that’s totally original.
Baltic Blue
- 4.3 Stars
- 9 Reviews
- Case Size: 45.5 MM
- Case Thickness: 12.3 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 10 ATM
What’s to Love:
The Baltic Blue is one of the most unique watches I’ve ever come cross. The color is an absolutely perfect medium blue that you won’t find on any other watch, making this the perfect timepiece for guys who want a watch that both tells time and starts conversations.
Pair it with a medium blue suit and a pair of brown shoes, and you’ll instantly stand out from the majority of guys who tend to stick to silver, gold and black when buying watches.
Atlas
- 4.5 Stars
- 59 Reviews
- Case Size: 41 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 20 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
Mixing black and brown can be tricky business, but the Atlas pulls it off perfectly. The minimalist styling on the black watch face lends it no shortage or refinement, while the brown leather strap brings just the right amount of ruggedness.
Gotham
- 4.7 Stars
- 195 Reviews
- Case Size: 41 MM
- Case Thickness: 11 MM
- Strap Width: 20 MM
- Movement Type: Quartz Movement
- Glass Type: Hardened Mineral Crystal
- Water Resistance: 5 ATM
What’s to Love:
The Gotham is all about simplicity. By combining the monochrome grey color scheme with the minimalist styling of the watch face, MVMT has crafted a watch that can go pretty much anywhere.
The Gotham would look just as good paired with a suit as it would with a short sleeve button-down and a pair of shorts, making it both one of the most stylish MVMT men’s watches, and one of the most versatile.
Where can I purchase MVMT watches for men?
In addition to MVMT’s own website, you can buy MVMT watches from a number of popular online retailers where you probably already shop, including Amazon, Nordstrom, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, among others.
