It isn’t hard to understand why people might want to find the most comfortable recliners on the market.

There are few better feelings than sinking into a good recliner at the end of a long day.

But “good” is the operative word.

Unfortunately, nowadays some manufacturers opt for style over substance, and focus more on complementing your interior design than providing the right amount of lumbar support and overall comfort.

And since the cheapies are designed to look like the most comfortable chairs, it can be hard to tell which one is actually a comfy chair when you’re looking online.

To help you find the most supportive and comfortable reclining chair for you, in this post we’ll round up more than a dozen of the best recliners on the market today.

Plus, we’ll explain what additional features and important factors to look for to find the best recliner chair.

User Reviews and Ratings

In order to assess each chair’s comfort level, we first took a close look at the Ergonomics and Support each one offers.

Ergonomic design ensures that a chair contours to your body shape, offering support where it’s needed most. We specifically looked for chairs that support key areas of the body – especially the back, neck, and legs – with features like adjustable headrests, lumbar support, and footrests.

We also considered the Material and Padding each chair uses. We looked for leather and/or other high quality fabric materials that are both soft and resilient, and favored cushioning made from the kind of high-quality foam that retains its shape over time.

Finally, we did a deep dive into User Reviews in order to understand what real people think of each chair, and get a sense of the value-for-money ratio offered by each chair’s price tag.

How to Choose a Comfortable Recliner

When you’re looking for a comfortable reclining chair, it’s important to find one that suits your needs.

There are many different types of reclining chairs on the market, so it’s important to do your research before making a purchase.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re shopping for a reclining chair:

First, consider your budget. There are many different price points for reclining chairs, so you’ll want to find one that fits within your budget.

(Opting for basic manual recliners instead of an electronic one with a lot of extra features can be a great way to save some cash.)

Second, think about the type of material you want your reclining chair to be made out of.

There are many different fabrics available, including a pricey full grain leather upholstery, a more affordable faux leather option that achieves a similar look, or other synthetic fabrics that help keep the price down.

Third, consider the style of the reclining chair. Do you want something traditional or something more modern?

Fourth, take measurements of the space where you’ll be placing the reclining chair to make sure it will fit comfortably.

And finally, when you’re checking out chairs online, be sure to read some comfortable recliner reviews.

The best quality recliners tend to be the ones that have a lot of reviews (think 30 or more), in which real people who have already purchased the chair have pointed out some of its pluses and minuses.

How To Make A Recliner More Comfortable

Whether you have a new recliner that isn’t quite right or an old one that’s past it’s prime, there are a few things you can do to make your recliner more comfortable.

First, adjust the backrest to find the perfect angle for your needs.

Second, use a lumbar support pillow (if your chair doesn’t already offer proper lumbar support) to maintain the natural curve of your spine:

Lumbar Support Pillow
Adding a good lumbar support pillow can make recliners even more comfortable

Third, prop your feet up on a leg rest or ottoman to take the pressure off of your lower back and legs.

Lastly, make sure the recliner is at the right height for you by adjusting the seat. By following these simple tips, you can enjoy your recliner for many years to come.
