It isn’t hard to understand why shoppers might want to find some other stores like Zumiez for alternative fashion and casual wear.
To be fair, Zumiez stores offer some great deals on casual staples like jeans, hoodies and graphic tees.
But their whole vibe (like a lot of their merchandise) is heavily based on skate and snowboard culture, which is cool, but can be a bit limiting.
Fortunately, they’re hardly the only game in town—or online, for that matter.
Nowadays there are a lot of great retail stores that offer stylish young shoppers a wide range of products and a diverse array of different styles and trends.
In this post we’ve put together a comprehensive list of stores like Zumiez where you can find different brands and decent prices on good quality products.

PacSun
PacSun is one of the top Zumiez competitors thanks to their diverse selection of clothes and apparel from popular brands like Champion, The North Face and More.
While Zumiez has an aesthetic that’s based in skate culture, PacSun – originally known as Pacific Sunwear of California – is a little more diverse.
They go beyond skateboarding and offer the latest trends in young women and men’s clothing that still encompasses that Southern California vibe, but isn’t limited to skating, surfing or other water sports.
Spencer’s
Spencer’s carries a wider range of merchandise than Zumiez and other similar stores, offering everything from band merch and graphic tees to jewelry and even sex toys.
They don’t carry sneakers like Zumiez does, but other than that they offer pretty much every category of clothes and apparel, in addition to homewares, party supplies and more.
Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters targets a similar demographic as Zumiez and is a popular store among young shoppers looking for hip fashion trends from popular clothing brands.
While still hip and of-the-moment, their aesthetic is a little more grown-up, so it’s a good alternative for anyone who feels like they’re starting to outgrow Zumiez.
ASOS
UK-based Asos is one of the top stores for young men and women looking for cool streetwear and other fresh styles.
They have a much wider range of clothign options than Zumiez and carry a wide selection of top brands, in addition to offering clothes and accessories under their own brand.
Uniqlo
Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo has become a mainstay in North America thanks to their functional and fashionable basics.
In addition to making the kind of business-casual staples that you can wear to work, they also offer a pretty big selection of graphic tees and other fun casual wear, so there’s some overlap with other Zumiez competitors like Hot Topic or Spencer’s.
Forever 21
Forever 21 is another one of those clothing stores that you can find in malls across America, where you can always find the latest fashions at an affordable rate.
They’re similar to Zumiez because they fall in a lower price range than stores like J.Crew or Banana Republic, but offer a wider variety of fashions and styles.
H&M
And speaking of a reasonable price range, H&M has long been known as one of the most fashionable and the most affordable retail stores.
The Swedish brand specializes in making affordable versions of the latest fashion trends that are popular on the streets and runways of Europe.
As a result, it’s probably the best alternative to Zumiez if you’re looking for affordable designs that are more fashion-forward and of-the-moment.
Zulily
Zulily is an online store with a unique gimmick that makes it quite different from regular retail stores like PacSun and Zumiez.
They have a wide variety of merchandise, but the selection of what’s available actually changes each day.
Once you sign up for a membership, the site will select a small sample of its inventory each day and make it available for really good discounts, sometimes as large as 70%.
It can be a bit hit or miss, but if you keep your eye on it, it’s a good way to score a great deal.
Amazon
As the world’s largest retailer, Amazon is a great place to turn as an alterantive to just about every kind of brand, not just stores like PacSun and Zumiez.
They stock one of the widest selections of clothes and apparel in the world, along with plenty of gear in the other categories that Zumiez is best known for, like skateboarding and snowboarding.
RebelsMarket
Rebels Market has more of an alternative edge than Zumiez and stocks a wide selection of clothes that could all be described as alternative and urbancore.
Like Zumiez and a few of the other stores on this list, they’re not limited to clothes and apparel, offering a fairly wide range of merchandise that includes accessories, home decor and more.
Zaful
Like H&M, Zaful is a little trendier and more fashion-forward than brands like Zumiez, which leans pretty casual.
The clothes at Zaful are slightly more mainstream, but they also have a big pop culture element that includes a range of Marvel gear, along with a variety of accessories.
Romwe
Romwe carries a pretty wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes, most of which is a little more mainstream and fashionable than what you’d find at Zumiez.
In addition to being more mainstream, Romwe’s offeirng is also broader. They carry not just clothes, but a variety of home decor pieces, and even stuff for pets.
Shein
Shein is a trendy and fashionable online clothing store that’s in the same category as Romwe and Forever 21.
They have a wide selection of both men’s and women’s clothes that are trendy, but definitely have a bit of an alternative edge to them, making them a great option for people who are used to Zumiez but want a broader variety of options.
Yandy
Yandy is a women’s online fashion store that specializes in intimates and lingerie, which is a little different than what Zumiez offers.
It’s a good place to buy intimates for women who like the overall vibe of Zumiez and want to find some swimwear, loungewear and other clothing that has a chic and alternative feel.
Rockabilia
Rockabilia, as you can probably guess from the name, has its roots firmly planted in rock and roll.
Where Zumiez looks to skate and snowboard culture for inspiration, Rockabilia looks to rock music, and offers a wide variety of graphic tees and band merch, in addition to accessories and other paraphernalia.
Blue Banana
Based in the United Kingdom, Blue Banana specializes in accessories like body jewelry and other alternative apparel.
They’re a good Zumiez alternative because their vibe is rooted more in emo, punk and alternative music, which has always had a pretty big crossover with the worlds of skateboarding and snowboarding that Zumiez occupies.
Grindstore
Grindstore is another example of a music-inspired online clothing store that specializes in indie-inspired, alternative apparel.
But their inspirations go well beyond music. In addition to band merch, they also carry a lot of pop culture stuff, including video games, anime and superhero paraphernalia.
Skate Warehouse
As its name implies, Skate Warehouse is a one-stop-shop for action sports clothes and gear.
They carry everything from skate shoes and apparel to a wide range of decks, trucks and other parts from some of the world’s leading skateboard brands.
Most of their stuff ships from their facility in San Luis Obispo, California, where they warehouse skateboards and other gear.
